Sitara

India’s First Do Tank linking Tech and Geopolitical Power

A profound loss to the country and to SITARA

SITARA has just learnt that Shri Bhupender Saharan, CEO VVDN, has passed away last night in a road accident.

VVDN Tech is one India’s finest, high-tech companies capable of producing 5G equipment. We have pinned our hopes on companies like VVDN to lead the indigenisation of India’s ICT networks, a prerequisite for a secure and economically prosperous nation.

We first learnt about VVDN when we visited their booth at Army Tech 3 years ago. Fortunately Shri Mohapatra, our distinguished member and former Chairman of ESCI, introduced me to him at a seminar.

Shri Saharan was one of our most proactive members who made us proud as we have been pointing out to Govt that India has some very, very fine companies with a global footprint.

Shri Saharan never refused an invitation to participate in our advocacy work and was an essential presence at all our interactions with Govt and internal brainstorming. He had urged us to visit the VVDN factory at Manesar and many SITARA members joined the video tour he conducted, which was very impressive and very nice of him to host. Just last week SITARA had a detailed interaction followed by a seminar with Chairman TRAI which he participated in.

Distinguished members have called to express their grief, disbelief and shock. SITARA will deeply miss his presence and contribution to India’s high-tech development. We are all reeling from shock.

We convey our deepest condolences to his Family and to his Colleagues and outstanding Team. May they have  the strength to bear this enormous loss.
