Prashant Jain

Prashant Jain is General Manager – Sales & Public Policy, at Tejas Networks, a Pioneering Indian Telecom Product Company. Tejas has successfully grown from a startup to become a market leader in India and a global Top 10 player in telecom networking products, on the strength of focused R&D and manufacturing in India.

Prashant Jain is B. Tech (Electrical) & MBA and has experience of more than 20 years in the field of IT, Networking and Telecom. Having worked with Global MNCs like HCL, Reliance Communication, ADVA at senior positions, he joined Tejas Networks in 2006 as a member of the sales team to drive sales and marketing initiative for the company.  Today, besides strategic Sales and Marketing activities, he is involved in various public policy initiatives, working towards supporting and promoting domestic manufacturing with value addition, product development and IP creation in India.

Among his many ideas is to create and manage a National Technology Transfer Agency (NTTA) with quasi legal authority for the Life Cycle Management of TOT & IPRs, including monitoring and assessing value addition on Tech and IP transfer for Make in India – by PSUs, industry and OFBs. Unless the Government, Industry and Legal system do not synchronize themselves under a single body, the dream of a strong MIC will remain a mirage.

He also wants to spearhead a National Technology Development Program for next generation technologies, start a certified national curriculum on Innovation and IPRs for creation of Certified Professionals, Students, Auditors and Trainers in the IPR and Technology domain, and many other projects.

He is a Ph D in Business Administration, Aligarh Muslim University, 2008, and MSc in Aeronautical Engineering, AFTC Bangalore, 1992.
