SITARA, which has been one of the prime proponents of ICT indigenisation since 2018, suggested a fresh, original approach for high-tech indigenisation to Govt in November 2024. Our suggestions were again met favorably and we were asked to flesh out our proposal for a Bills of Materials approach to components indigenisation, which is explained in our detailed proposal and an addendum which you can download here.
We request anyone who has borrowed or wants to use these ideas to acknowledge/ attribute SITARA.
Our suggestions have on the whole not only been received favorably, some have even been implemented. We are specially glad that our advocacy of indigenisation of telecom networks since 2018 – led to the award of a major tender to an Indian consortium, members of which have developed the MIMO technology, which only a couple of other countries have.
